Safari Tents

For those who want to camp but don’t have their own gear, or want to experience their first time camping experience amidst nature, our new safari tents offer the perfect low cost solution… and it saves the hassle of erecting your own tent.

Situated on the edge of the forest, the tents overlook the mature Jarrah and Marri trees of the surrounding National Park. Soak up the sights, sounds and smells of the Australian bush, relax by the nearby communal campfires or relax on your full sized bed with a good book … Each safari tent has one double and two single beds (a set of bunks).  There is a table and chairs out the front, and guests staying in the safari tents can cook up a feast in the communal camp kitchen or for the real outdoor experience cook up on the campfire (in winter) or BBQ in summer.  The nearby communal ablution facilities offer hot and cold showers as well as flushing toilets – it is almost glamping – though without the cost!

To reduce excessive laundering, we encourage our guests to bring their linen from home, though if this is not possible you can hire it through our linen hire service for a small additional charge.

We are inside a National Park and we are committed to environmental sustainability, there is no electric heating in any of the accommodation at Wharncliffe Mill we have log fires in the cabins and lodge for warmth in winter as well as campfire pits in the campground for the campers and people staying the safari tents..  In summer the temperature usually drops overnight in Margaret River (it only reaches over 30 degrees Celsius during the day for around 20 days each year) and all of our rooms and safari tents have fans.  We also have a lot of shade from the surrounding trees for summer.
